Two Wolves

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, 'My son, the battle is between two 'wolves' inside us all.

One is Evil.

It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority and ego.

The other is Good.

It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.'

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: 'Which wolf wins?'

The old Cherokee simply replied, 'The one you feed.'

Feed your good wolf!!!  You have the opportunity as children of God to show others the love of Christ . Therefore be vessels of God flowing in exceeding generosity and love for the less fortunate and show others your good wolf qualities. For the Bible lets us know how the Lord feels for the poor and is their champion.

"He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God." Proverbs 14:31

"He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward him for what he has done." Proverbs 19:17

"If a man shuts his ears to the cry of the poor, he too will cry out and not be answered." Proverbs 21:13

"A generous man will himself be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor." Proverbs 22:9

"He who gives to the poor will lack nothing, but he who closes his eyes to them receives many curses." Proverbs 28:27

"Jesus answered, If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.'" Matthew 19:21

"If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth." 1 John 3:17-18

If God has placed it on your heart to be a blessing to the less fortunate and often ignored,  please join  Mom and Pops and others on Saturdays as they minister and preach the Good News to homeless men and women in Atlanta. Another way, you may contribute is through the donation of  clothing items such as scarves, gloves, hats , coats, jackets and any other clothing to help keep them warm on cold days and nights. Food and monetary contributions are accepted as well. For further information , contact Mom and Pops
